Faith and Order and Ecumenical Relations

The purpose of the Faith and Order and Ecumenical Relations Committee is:

  • To advise the Province on questions of faith and order and ecumenical matters
  • To arrange representation of the Province at ecumenical meetings as appropriate. For example, the committee is responsible for revisions to the Moravian hymn and liturgy books, preparation of liturgies for special services.

The committee consists of four members elected by nomination and ballot at Synod – currently Sue Groves, Norma Maynard, Joy Raynor and Martin Smith, the Provincial Ecumenical Officers – Philip Cooper and Lorraine Shorten, a bishop – Sarah Groves, and members of the Provincial Board – Roberta Hoey and Michael Newman.
