Hornsey, London - Jan 2026
After not meeting since before COVID, our Moravian Women’s Association group has started up again. One of the first things they have done is leading one of our morning services in November. It was a service filled with uplifting hymns, readings and an address, along with music from our very own steel band. The service was much appreciated and enjoyed by all, and it was wonderful to see the ladies back together as the MWA. This will have been, without a doubt, the first of many services and events.
As this is being written, we are in the middle of Advent, which we all know is a busy time for the church. Here at Hornsey, we have our usual Christmas services, including the Lessons & Carols service which is combined with the popular Christingle service. Churches Together will also hold their annual community carol singing outside our local Sainsbury’s.
We held our annual Christmas Dinner on Sunday 7th December. This was a wonderful occasion where many church members, along with family and friends came along. As always, we were treated to a tasty array of food which gave everyone the energy they needed for getting onto the dancefloor, with a selection of music played by our very own DJ and some live music from the steel band. A big thank you to everyone involved, for the setting up, the decorating, the music and the food, it was much appreciated by all.
Finally, everyone here at Hornsey would like to wish all of our brothers and sisters a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
Sr Claire Newman
