On the 14th July we welcomed Tayha Waite into the Church of Christ by the right of Baptism, Br Evans baptised Tayha and Br Cooper conducted the remainder of the service, welcoming family and friends and giving the family address.
In September we have had a number of special events. The Women’s Fellowship held their A.G.M. to elect the officials for the coming year and plan for the annual service, carol service and outing. On the 8th at the afternoon service Br Evans gave his report on the Provincial Synod held in July, highlighting points of special interest. On the 11th we said goodbye to an old Sunday School scholar Janet Ricketts (nee Moore) who passed away on the 23rd August, and she was interred in God’s Acre alongside her parents. On the 15th we welcomed Katie Philpot and her Dance School to the Annual Presentation Service. It was a well-attended service with just short of 100 being there to see the young people receive their awards. The Wellhouse Cup for the Most Improved Dancer of the year went to Brooke Atkinson. On the 21st Brs Cooper and Evans attended the Ordination of Susan Quildan-Foreman at Hornsey Moravian Church and on the 22nd Br Cooper led a service to ‘Remember Loved Ones’ and a number of recently bereaved families attended and brought something particularly poignant to them and their loved one. On the 29th we held our Harvest Thanksgiving Service led by Sr Claire Maxwell when the church was decorated with gifts of the harvest. All the tinned and packets goods along with the blankets and warm clothing went to the Bradford Soup Run to help the homeless in Bradford.
On the 1st October the Women’s Fellowship visited Horton to share Fellowship with the sisters there.
We continue with Holy Habits and continue sharing our resources with the community around.
