Bath Weston - October 2024
Here at Weston, we have had busy few months with film evenings, with which we have one coming up on the 28th September (It's a Wonderful Life), along with craft and Moravian modellers evenings. The Quiz nights, all the money goes to charity which was for The Bath Parkinson's Society this time. Sr Lorraine also runs her Lego afternoons on a Tuesday in the school holidays.
Starting from last September 2023 a lady from the community has also been running a craft fair once a month using the church and church hall. The church provides refreshments, with either hotdogs, bacon rolls and plenty of homemade cakes, and this all goes down very well with a cup of tea or coffee. A summer fair was held at the end of July, and luckily it was a nice day, so we were able to put table and chairs outside for people to use. There was a steady flow of people most of the afternoon and all went well making some very needed money for church funds. The Love Weston Cafe on a Friday is very popular: this is run by volunteers from the different churches in the area, plus anyone else who can give some of their time for this happy chatty place, and the food and drinks are at such reasonable prices. During August we have been having Godly Play Sunday services with Sr Lorraine, which are very explanatory and makes you wonder and think differently about the bible stories. We also have four legged friends dropping in!
Now we are looking forward to the Heritage Day on 7th September, organised by Br Chris Shorten. The theme will be Routes, Networks, Connections, and will be partnering with the different Community groups that use our premises, so hopefully we will have lots of people coming through the doors.
With blessings.
